1st Response Verification

Approving non Girlguiding 1st Response trainers

This route applies to experienced non Girlguiding trainers who would like to train using Girlguiding 1st Response materials. They must be recommended by their local county commissioner. They are responsible for obtaining and renewing their own first aid qualification. Existing Girlguiding trainers should complete TQ Module 4 for 1st Response.

Approving non Girlguiding 1st Response courses

Aim: to allow volunteers who have completed a first aid course other than 1st Response to be credited with 1st Response. Volunteers also need to complete e-learning and may need to ‘top up’ any elements of the 1st Response syllabus they have not covered.

Please note, these arrangements are temporary and will need to be revised once the Girlguiding Trainer Development Programme is launched.

There is no formal appeal route for decisions made using these flow charts, but the lead volunteer for learning and development will review in the event of any complaint to check the process has been followed.
