Register your Brownies to attend using this form, which will close at the end of the day on Sunday 26 February. Once the closing date has passed, places will be allocated by ballot. Please note that registration is limited to a maximum of 10 Brownies and two leaders per unit (if you need more leaders to meet the needs of your group, please get in touch). Groups can be made up of a single unit or a combination of units.

Google Takeover Day
Not been to one of the highly popular Google Takeover Days before? We're pleased to announce that registration for the Brownie takeover of Google HQ on Wednesday 12 April 2023 is now open! At this free event girls will code real robots and experiment with animation. They'll also receive their Google Digital discovery badge, and hear about what it’s like to work in tech.

How much will it cost?
This event is free to attend, but you will need to cover travel to and from the venue and bring a packed lunch each.
Do leaders need to attend?
Leaders are required to attend with their group please. Leaders will stay with girls the whole day throughout all the activities and lunch. Google staff will lead on activities for everyone to join in with! Usual ratios apply.
Food and drink:
Everyone will need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle for the day. Please let us know of any severe allergies when confirming your place (after the ballot).
How does the ballot work?
The form link will be open from midday Thursday 23 February to the end of Sunday 26 February. Once the closing date has passed, places will be allocated by ballot. Those groups who have been successful in the ballot will be contacted within a week, but we won’t be contacting unsuccessful groups. Do keep an eye on your inbox though as we may contact you if spaces become available later on.

What activities will girls be doing?
Brownies will have the opportunity to receive their Google Digital discovery badge! Girls will code real robots and experiment with animation. They'll also hear about what it’s like to work in tech. There’ll also be breakout spots where girls can get creative designing pixel art too, which is always a popular activity!
First aid:
First aid provision will be the responsibility of the group leaders throughout the event. Please ensure you have sufficient first aid provisions for the duration of the event, travel (if applicable) and for any specific health needs for individuals in your group.
Risk assessments:
Groups will be responsible for risk assessing travel (if applicable) and pastoral care during the event. The event and venue will be risk assessed by Google and Girlguiding LaSER.
Will we get a badge?!
Yes, everyone will get the Google Digital discovery badge free of charge.
What forms will we need to complete?
If successful, we will ask you to complete Google’s School Group consent form on behalf of your whole group. Also, the parent/carer of each young member will need to complete Google’s Student consent form. These will need to be returned electronically, and will be shared with Girlguiding UK and Google.
You will need to collect information and consent forms for your young members as with any other event away from the meeting place, but do not need to share these with us. However, please do inform us of any additional needs, severe allergies, or anything else we may need to be aware of.
