Great Big Green Week 2023

The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of Community Action to tackle climate change and protect nature, and everyone’s invited!

Help us make the 10 -18 June the greatest, biggest, greenest week the UK has ever seen by running an activity with your unit!

Activity ideas:

  • Go outdoors, discover nature and earn a badge using one of the RSPB and Girlguiding London and South East England activity packs – Together with Nature, Brilliant Birds, or Growing Up Wild RSPB Paw Print
  • Run a craftivism activity, make a green heart to wear or display to show you care about climate action. Find inspiration here
  • Write a ‘Letter to Tomorrow’, explaining your hopes for future generations if our leaders step up to protect the environment – and your fears about what life could be like if we don’t slow down climate change. You can upload your letters and view others’ letters on the Letters to Tomorrow website.
  • Download a poster from some of the UK’s best loved children’s book illustrators, colour it in, and display it in your window to show that you care about climate action.

Share:

  • Help us to showcase our impact for climate change and nature by registering your activity on the Great Big Green week website. Please include ‘Girlguiding London and South East England’ in the event title. You can mark your event as closed to the public and do not have to give an address. By registering your event, you’ll also be part of the wave of support for action to protect the planet.
  • Let us know that you’re taking part in the Great Big Green Week on your social media channels, we’d love to see photos of what you are doing. Use #GreatBigGreenWeek and tag @TheCCoalition on Twitter and @theclimatecoalition on Facebook and Instagram to share photographs of your letters, colouring ins, or any other activities.
