Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) wants to teach Brownies, Guides and Rangers how to do CPR and use a defibrillator ahead of the emergency services arriving, which can more than double someone’s chance of survival from a cardiac arrest.
As part of the new KSS challenge badge launching this autumn, units can take part in free, live-streamed CPR sessions with the KSS crew on Restart a Heart Day, Wednesday 16 October:
- 6pm (aimed at Brownies)
- 7:30pm (aimed at Guides and Rangers)
It only takes 30 minutes to learn CPR and there’s no specific equipment needed: use jumpers to practice, cushions or even just ask your young members to bring a soft teddy along.
Sessions will be recorded for those who can't make the live stream at aakss.org.uk/girlguideRSAH
