We designed Growing Up Wild to help connect our young members (5 to 25 years) with their natural environment. We want to encourage our Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and members of The Senior Section to explore and investigate, to get excited and engage with nature.
Check out the Paw Prints and discover a range of activities for you to complete with your Unit or children. Find out what your girls or children think Growing Up Wild means? Encourage them to think about the things that they already do outside and what they would like to have the opportunity to do.
Look at your Unit’s plan for the term – how can you incorporate some outdoor time with your girls? Growing Up Wild isn’t about bringing the outdoors inside, it’s about getting out there and exploring! Look at how our Paw Prints link into your programme and start planning some adventures, however small. We want everyone to discover their own impact on the world around them and we hope that Growing Up Wild will inspire all to get outdoors. All LaSER members must contact their County Badge Secretary to order the Growing Up Wild badges.
Growing Up Wild badges can be ordered by members of other Girlguiding Countries and Regions, external to LaSER, directly by clicking here.
Growing Up Wild is not just limited to Girlguiding LaSER members! If you want to set off an adventure with your family or if your daughter is unable to attend a Growing Up Wild event with her Leader – why not organise your own way to earn a Paw Print badge? Girls can report back to their Leaders about what they have been up to, so we encourage you to check out some of our suggestions for getting out and about as a family!
To help you plan your guiding year we will be having monthly Growing Up Wild competitions. Each month we will focus on a different Pawprint with new challenges and prizes to be won! To find out more and to enter this month’s competition please click here.
