A Roarsome Trailblazer
We asked Aishah all about her journey so far, and what she's most looking forward to!
What do you think it will be like at the World Scout Jamboree?
I think that it’ll be really uplifting and inspiring to see so many young people who raised the funds to come to the event. I know that I’ll make loads of new friends who I will possibly stay in contact with for the rest of my life. It’ll be really interesting to meet young people my age from different countries on such a large scale.
What are you most looking forward to?
I am really looking forward to the idea of experiencing Korea outside of a tv screen. I feel like the atmosphere will be completely different to the UK and I’m excited to see how things are done there. This will also be my first time travelling as an individual without my parents and I’m really excited for that leap of independence.
What was your first Unit 32 meet up like?
It was really exciting and it made me actually grasp that I’d be going to Korea next year. It seems a long way away but I’m sure it will fly past.
What fundraising ideas are you working on?
As of now, I have raised over £1000. My Ranger Unit and I embarked on an 18 mile walk from Crystal Palace to Erith and raised money through sponsorship. I have also been using my baking abilities to my advantage and have been taking brownies orders from friends and family. I am planning on hosting a fundraising event later this year with the help of my friends.
Something you want to do or try when you are in Korea?
I really want to try authentic Korean BBQ and learn how to make Korean dishes. I’m a huge foodie and I’m really excited to try the food and hopefully find a new favourite food.
Well done Aishah, we can't wait to see you show your stripes!
