All you need to know about Wellies and Wristbands!

Written by Madison Wood-Field

What is it?

Wellies and Wristbands is a four day, three night residential camp for Guides and Rangers. There are two locations in which it takes place: Girlguiding's Foxlease and Waddow Hall activity centres. It takes place over the bank holiday weekend in August each year, making it perfect for Guides and their leaders!

What do you do?

In the day time, a wide variety of activities and experiences are on offer. The wide majority of these are adventurous and quite physical. This includes rock climbing, abseiling, two zip wires, high ropes, crate stacking, kayaking, raft building and canoeing! All of these are completely optional, but are a fantastic way to experience new things.

But if these are not for you, there is also a large craft tent, science tent, inflatable field and beauty treatments/hot tubs - perfect for relaxation!

Overall, I think that Wellies and Wristbands is a fantastic camp, which ultimately has no downfalls!

Why is it unique?

Wellies and Wristbands is also a festival at night. It has a stage with different bands and performers for evening entertainment. The stage has seen famous acts like Bars and Melody and Roadtrip! Definitely not one to miss.

Also unique to Wellies is the fact that it requires little work for leaders. All food for the weekend is catered for - so don’t worry leaders, no cooking for you this camp! Leaders don’t require a Going Away With permit to take girls on the trip either. It’s a win-win situation!
