Girl's Matter At City Hall - Parliament Week 2014

A group of young members from Girlguiding LaSER voted with their feet during Parliament Week when they converged on City Hall on Monday 17 November. Guides joined together to highlight the issues facing girls and young women and hear from top female campaigners.

The Explaining Campaigning event was organised by Girlguiding LaSER to coincide with Parliament week in the capital. They heard from top campaigners from the Fawcett Society, Concern Worldwide and No More Page 3.

The event comes soon after Girlguiding launched its Girls Matter campaign. Girlguiding LaSER members have added their voices to Girls Matter, Girlguiding’s eight direct calls to politicians ahead of the general election. They include calls for politicians to guarantee that women will be equally represented in parliament, to call on schools to teach body confidence and gender equality and to make girls’ rights an international development priority.
