Guides go to Google

This May half term, it was Guides' turn to visit Google's offices in St Pancras for a day of fun and learning with the tech giant .

100 Guides from the region heard from some of Google's female engineers about how technology is for everyone and what it's like to work in tech. They then took part in fun and exciting activities, including guiding robots through obstacle courses before building, testing and racing their own Lego robots, and coding imagiCharms with fun and playful digital designs.

The event was part of Google's partnership with Girlguiding UK, which empowers girls to develop digital skills and explore the online world safely.

The good news is you don't need to visit Google to get in on the fun. Find out how to bring Google to your unit through digital discovery UMAs and the badges on offer. No internet or previous tech skills required!
