Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and members of the Senior Section from Peacehaven recently came together for an action packed day of fun.
Over 100 members of Girlguiding from the Peacehaven district were able to take part in a 'Girls Go Wild!' day, enabling them to learn about native wildlife and habitats. There were numerous activities for them to take part in at their base for the day in Seaford, including; making mud pies, nature water shakers, decorating cakes in to hedgehogs, making wooden necklaces and playing games. They were also visited by some Owls, which the girls were lucky enough to hold, as well as finding out about their natural habitats, prey and the differences between different breeds.
During the day the girls took trips over to Friston Forest where they met with members from The Sussex Wildlife Trust. While in the forest, the girls tried their hand at pond dipping, bug hunting, sensory tests and so much more. They were full of stories of their time in the forestonce they had returned back to base!
The whole day was closed with a fantastic fire show from Poi Passion, who are professionals in displays and performances. The girls were in awe watching the two performers show off their fire skills - including fire eating as well as hula hooping and dancing with the flames. Everyone was extremely lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy all of this while outside in the glorious sunshine.
One lucky Brownie from 1st Telscombe Cliffs Brownies won a District wide competition to design a badge for the day. This design was created in to a badge for the girls who all took one home with them at the end of the day!
