We're coming together with England Rugby to inspire our members through non-contact rugby and related activities, emphasising fun, fitness and inclusion.
This exciting partnership comes ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England. We want to inspire the rugby players and fans of the future, in what is sent to be a momentous year for the women's game.
At the heart of this partnership is the new Love Rugby badge and challenge pack, launching today. Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers will all have the opportunity to build and develop rugby skills through a series of warm-up activities and games. They will also engage with off-the-pitch activities such as writing a letter to a Red Rose player, or making a treat to help boost energy when playing rugby.
The skills I learnt during my time as a Guide - teamwork, communication, and being able to express myself - have been invaluable to me throughout my rugby career. This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to introduce more girls to the game of rugby, showing them that rugby is a place for them, whilst having fun and learning valuable life skills. I can’t wait to see the next generation of girls completing the Love Rugby badge and being inspired to play rugby in 2025.

In addition to the badge, members will be able to engage with rugby through ticket and event opportunities and create links with local clubs. We'll also be working with England Rugby to host two T1 rugby mega festivals in our region. T1 rugby is the world’s first non-contact sport that fully reflects the unique characteristics of rugby union while remaining simple to play. Keep an eye on the events page and Spotlight for more details.
We're delighted to be working with England Rugby to give our members a wonderful opportunity to experience rugby against the background of the Women’s World Rugby Cup, which is being hosted in England later this year. Non-contact rugby is a game for everyone, played by anyone. It is simple to play and, as well as being lots of fun, it has team spirit at its heart. I'm really looking forward to seeing our girls in action over the coming months.
— Amanda Teasel, chief commissioner
England Rugby hopes to expand on this partnership and extend this opportunity to other Girlguiding regions across England in due course.
