Nicola Candlish
In 2017, Nicola was made an Honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music and she is currently the Chief Executive of the British Youth Opera. Nicola is available for virtual meetings, but can attend larger face to face events with enough notice.
- Nicola started her guiding journey in 1988 as one of the very first members of 8th Gateshead Rainbows and hasn’t looked back. She has volunteered with Girlguiding in Haringey for 12 years as a Guide and Ranger leader and division commissioner. In 2018 she led the LaSERIO expedition to Costa Rica.
- As Girlguiding Middlesex East Ranger Adviser, Nicola was instrumental in starting a flexible County Ranger unit.
- Nicola studied for a BA and a PhD in Music at Durham University and then had a successful career as a Stage Manager. Notable moments include a world tour and being part of an Olivier Award-winning stage management team!
- Nicola spent several years producing opera at the Royal Academy of Music.
