Roverway is a joint WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) and WOSM (World Association of the Scout Movement) Europe event which takes place every 3-6 years. Next summer, Roverway will be in Norway from 22 July – 1 Aug 2024. Thousands of Scouting and Guiding members will join from across Europe and beyond. The theme of this Roverway is North of Ordinary and more information is on their website here.
Roverway is typically split into two halves. First, patrols of members aged 18-22 will get to 'rove' wild and free through Norway. They will camp in the wild, using traditional camping equipment, carrying equipment with them as they trek. Their route may involve community action, an environmental project or something completely different to tackle as a team. Then, as the week comes to a close, patrols join together at a jamboree camp with thousands of other members for a unique programme reflective of the host country’s culture and customs.
We also have members aged 23 and over heading to Norway as part of the International Service Team (IST).
Participants will have a series of briefing events from autumn 2023 to prepare for their adventure. Keep an eye on our international news page for updates as they go!
