Jo Newell

I oversee the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) for Girlguiding London and South East England. I work with the DofE manager at Girlguiding, county DofE advisers, and individual volunteers and participants. I get to see all the amazing things our young members get up to for their DofE as an independent verifier for the bronze and silver awards. It’s great to see all the fun, exciting and challenging activities members undertake for their DofE!

I am also a DofE Manager within the school I teach at, and I freelance for DofE Expeditions. I'm passionate about ensuring the DofE is something every girl has an opportunity to get involved with.

I have been a leader in Girlguiding for 3 years and I am currently an assistant leader at a Guide unit in London South East.
